Why you should send your patients to Women’s Cancer Care of Seattle

Women’s Cancer Care of Seattle provides a wide range of services to patients needing gynecologic oncology care. Our physicians and care team specialize in treating these problems, among many others:

  • Uterine cancer, including the most common gynecologic cancer, endometrial cancer
  • Ovarian cancer
  • Cervical cancer
  • Peritoneal cancer
  • Tubal cancer
  • Vaginal cancer
  • Vulvar cancer
  • Gestational trophoblastic neoplasia (a rare cancer of the placenta)
  • Cervical dysplasia and other pre-cancerous lesions of the lower genital tract

  • Solutions for Familial Cancer Risk
Our gynecologic oncologists can address genetic susceptibility to breast and ovarian cancer, including management of women with BRCA-1 or BRCA-2 genetic mutations.

We can also help patients with strong family histories of colon cancer, which may be due to mismatched repair gene mutations. These are commonly designated as Lynch Syndrome II or hereditary non-polyposis colorectal cancer syndrome. Women in families with these genetic changes are at increased risk of developing endometrial and ovarian cancers. The best possible care for these patients requires coordination between specialists in colon cancer and us – specialists in the treatment of gynecologic cancers.

    Experts in Pelvic Surgery
As board-certified gynecologists with special expertise in pelvic surgery, we are also called on to manage women with non-cancerous yet surgically challenging problems. For example, we surgically treat large ovarian masses, uterine fibroids, extensive endometriosis and pelvic organ prolapse.

Techniques honed in the management of our cancer patients, such as our use of minimally invasive procedures that decrease tissue trauma and blood loss, reduce complications and speed post-operative recovery, directly benefit all our patients.

In addition to standard surgical techniques, we also offer robotic surgery, using the daVinci S Surgical System. The enhanced dexterity of the surgical robot is especially well suited to performing procedures in restricted spaces, a common challenge in gynecologic procedures.
